Statement on the Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran

 The Republic of Uzbekistan welcomes the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran as a significant diplomatic breakthrough towards de-escalation and the restoration of regional security and stability amid the current complex international environment.

We particularly commend the political will and strategic foresight demonstrated by the leadership of the United States and Iran at a critical juncture. The agreement reached lays the foundation for a long-awaited peaceful settlement that the entire international community has been eagerly anticipating.

We highly appreciate the substantial contribution of Pakistan and Qatar, as well as the efforts of Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other regional partners that helped create the conditions necessary for achieving this important understanding.

Uzbekistan looks forward to the constructive continuation of the negotiation process and the effective implementation of the agreements reached.

We are convinced that the resolution of conflicts through diplomatic means, based on the principles of international law, mutual respect, and consideration of the interests of all parties, remains essential to ensuring peace and security.
