Priority tasks for the development of digital technologies are considered
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation on the results achieved and priorities for 2026 in the development of digital technologies.
At the presentation, it was noted that in recent years the country has been implementing consistent measures to develop the digital economy, digitalize public services and form an innovation ecosystem. According to research by foreign experts, in 2024-2025, the total value of the country's startup and venture ecosystem reached $3.9 billion. The number of domestic startups has exceeded 750. Today there are 15 venture funds, the volume of venture capital has exceeded $180 million.
Uzbekistan is recognized as the second fastest growing startup ecosystem in the world and the leader in growth rates in Central Asia.
The presentation noted that by 2030 it is planned to increase the number of startups to 5 thousand, the number of startups entering the foreign market is up to 200, bringing the volume of venture investments to $2 billion.
For these purposes, based on international experience, a four-stage startup support system is being introduced. At the stages of idea, development, launch and scaling, grants, tax breaks, co-financing mechanisms, as well as compensation for export costs are provided.
Plans for the further development of electronic government services are considered. In particular, it is planned to increase the number of digital services to 900, expand the functionality of the MyGov.uz mobile application, introduce artificial intelligence technologies in more than 50 services, develop a Unified Population Register, as well as completely digitalize the processes of starting a business, recording employees of individual entrepreneurs, issuing bank plastic cards, obtaining SIM cards, insurance and advertising services.
During the presentation, information is provided on the progress of work on creating infrastructure for artificial intelligence technologies. Thus, a modern small supercomputer has now been put into operation, and work on the acquisition and launch of a large supercomputer is in an active phase. As a result of the project, artificial intelligence laboratories will be created in 15 higher educational institutions, the potential of specialized specialists will increase, and opportunities for the development and implementation of domestic AI solutions will expand.
The need to expand the network of modern data centers in the regions of the country was noted, as well as to ensure the security and continuity of data storage and processing.
Special attention is paid to the development of telecommunications infrastructure. It was emphasized that sustainable growth rates are being ensured in this area: the speed and coverage of the Internet are increasing from year to year, and the quality of mobile communications is improving. In 2026, it is planned to further introduce 5G technologies, expand coverage of populated areas with high-speed Internet, as well as wider use of satellite communications.
The President noted that digital technologies directly contribute to increasing the competitiveness of economic sectors, the efficiency of public administration and the quality of life of the population, and gave relevant instructions to those in charge to implement the identified tasks.
