Plans to diversify the chemical industry were considered
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation on the progress of projects in the chemical industry and plans for diversification of the industry.
In As a result of ongoing reforms, market mechanisms were introduced in the industry and wide access to investment was opened. To expand the production chain, three chemical clusters have been created in Navoi, Fergana and Kungrad, as well as two technology parks in Chirchik and Jizzakh. The Kokand superphosphate plant has undergone a complete modernization.
Over the past five years, 23 new enterprises have been commissioned, more than 4 thousand jobs have been created. International brands have entered the industry, and the production of small-scale products has been established. As a result, production volumes in the chemical industry increased by 1.5 times.
During the presentation, the head of state was informed about the work done and plans for the current year. It was noted that in the first quarter, $181 million of investments were disbursed, three projects worth $39 million were put into operation.
In the second quarter, by attracting another $170 million of foreign investment, it is planned to complete construction and launch enterprises for the production of “green” hydrogen and cyanide salts.
The digitalization of the industry and the expansion of its integration with related sectors. Additional modules will be introduced into the unified treasury system of chemical plants, and 15 key economic indicators of enterprises will be reflected on the “Unified Digital Platform”.
Particular attention is paid to energy efficiency issues. The need to reduce costs through energy saving and efficient use of production capacity is emphasized.
Significant untapped potential was identified. The demand for chemical products in the domestic market is growing rapidly, and the unstable situation in world markets requires new approaches.
In this regard, measures for the structural transformation of the industry, deepening localization and increasing added value were discussed.
Responsible persons have been tasked with developing a new program for the development of the chemical industry, taking into account modern requirements and economic forecasts, with an emphasis on diversifying the industry beyond through the development of new directions for the production of products with high added value.
