Measures to improve the quality of higher education were considered
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on April 30 got acquainted with the presentation of measures to improve the sphere of non-state educational services, improve the quality of higher and vocational education.
The development of industries and sectors of the economy, as well as the well-being of the investment environment, are closely related to human resources. Therefore, the system of higher and vocational education is constantly being improved.
Thanks to the opportunities provided in recent years for the private sector in the field of education, 71 private higher education institutions and 51 private technical schools have been created, which today educate about 500 thousand students and students.
As a result, higher education coverage in the country has increased from 9 to 42 percent.
Of course, the work done has opened the way to obtaining professional and higher education for thousands of young people. However, not all non-state educational institutions provide the proper quality of education.
The key tasks today are to improve the quality of admission, curricula, educational process and scientific potential in non-state institutions, as well as adapting them to the requirements of the modern labor market.
In this regard, during the presentation, proposals for streamlining the activities of private educational institutions and improving the licensing system were discussed and the introduction of a new procedure for state accreditation.
It is proposed to switch to a two-stage licensing system based on international best practices, introduce mandatory specialized accreditation of educational programs, and organize comprehensive state accreditation every five years.
In addition, an initiative was put forward to create an independent structure engaged in external assessment of the quality of education, and to introduce a transparent, objective and fair quality control system, taking into account the best practices of developed countries.
Ensuring the quality of education and the introduction of external assessment will help improve the efficiency of training and scientific potential in institutions of vocational and higher education, as well as improve their position in international ratings.
