A solid package of agreements was adopted between Uzbekistan and Pakistan
Following the results of the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif signed a Joint declaration.
In addition, in the presence of the leaders, the following documents were exchanged:
– Program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026–2028;
– Agreement on the establishment of the Uzbek-Pakistan Business Council;
– Agreement on the establishment of the Uzbek-Pakistan Interregional Forum;
– Protocol on the inclusion of a new list of goods to the Preferential Trade Agreement;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of port services and the provision of discounts;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of mining and geology;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of agricultural research and development;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of control of pharmaceutical products;
– Agreement on cooperation in the textile and clothing industry;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of digital and information technologies;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture;
– Agreement on the preservation, study and broad promotion of scientific, educational, cultural and architectural heritage of the Great Baburid Dynasty;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of sports;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of radiation and nuclear safety;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of ecology and natural disasters;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of emergency management situations;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of anti-corruption;
– Agreement on cooperation in the fight against illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic and new psychoactive substances, as well as their precursors;
– Agreement on the transfer of persons deprived of their liberty for continued serving penalties;
– Protocol on phytosanitary requirements for the export from Uzbekistan to Pakistan of fresh apples, figs, lemons and hot peppers for consumption;
– Road map between the Ministries of Defense of the two countries.
Agreements on the establishment of Uzbek-Pakistani Council of Experts, on cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and the Office for the Development of Small and Medium Businesses under the Ministry of Industry and Production of Pakistan, the khokimiyat of the city of Termez and the administration of the city of Peshawar, the khokimiyat of the city of Samarkand and the administration of the city of Islamabad, the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamabad Institute of Strategic Studies, Tashkent University Oriental Studies and the University of Peshawar.
