The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan launched a border trade zone
At the end of the high-level negotiations, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the launch ceremony of a joint border trade zone “Shavat-Dashoguz.”
On the territory of the zone there are administrative buildings of the directorate, customs, quarantine, phytosanitary and veterinary services, a trade pavilion and warehouses.
Government services are provided on the principle of “single window” and interactive systems, banking, medical and hotel services, spacious parking lot.
The activities of the zone will contribute to building up trade and economic relations between the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan and the Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan - two key regions with a total population of more than 3.5 million people.
