The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of expanding strategic partnership
On the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The head of our state cordially congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on hosting the global UN Conference, held in the International Year of Peace and Trust, at the highest level, and sincerely thanked him for presenting the high state award of Turkmenistan - the Order “For Contribution to the Development of Cooperation.”
Current issues of further development were considered expansion of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership in the context of preparations for upcoming high-level events.
The dynamic growth of mutual trade turnover, deepening cooperation in the field of industry, energy, transport, agriculture and water management were noted with satisfaction. Active interregional and humanitarian exchanges continue.
The importance of ensuring the effectiveness of the meetings of intergovernmental commissions, the Business Council, the Forum of Regions, and a number of cultural events planned this year was emphasized.
Views were also exchanged on the regional agenda, the schedule of high-level meetings was reviewed.
