The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed issues of expanding practical cooperation
On August 30, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The head of our state cordially congratulated the leader of Belarus on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, prosperity and success, as well as peace and prosperity to the friendly Belarusian people.
In turn, the President of Belarus warmly congratulated the leader and the multinational people of Uzbekistan on the upcoming Independence Day, wishing sustainable development and progress.
Issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Belarusian multifaceted partnership relations were discussed in the context of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Uzbekistan in February last year.
Productive contacts and exchanges at different levels were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover has increased by 30 percent since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects between leading enterprises in agriculture, electrical engineering, engineering, textiles and other industries are being implemented. Interparliamentary, business, cultural and humanitarian ties are actively developing.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Belarus also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral meetings and events.
