The President of Uzbekistan advocated further expansion of partnership with the International Monetary Fund
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina on September 22 in New York City Georgieva.
Current issues of expanding partnership with this authoritative global structure were considered.
IMF Head Kristalina Georgieva highly appreciated the ongoing reforms and confirmed strong support for irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan.
Noted with satisfaction fruitful interaction with the Fund in the field of improving macroeconomic policy, budget and tax administration. Our specialists regularly undergo advanced training programs at IMF centers. This year, a joint assessment of the sustainability of the country’s financial sector was carried out and a “road map” was adopted.
During the meeting, agreements were reached on further expert support from the Fund on the development of monetary and fiscal policies, the transformation of the statistical system, as well as the expansion of training programs for employees of economic departments.
