The President of Uzbekistan advocated further expansion of partnership with ADB
As part of the program of events of the international forum “From Poverty to Prosperity”, held in the city of Namangan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Inmin Yang.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice President Inming Yang conveyed to the head of our state the greetings and best wishes of the head of the ADB, Masato Kanda, and congratulated him on the successful holding of the forum.
Practical aspects of deepening cooperation with this leading international financial institution were considered as part of the implementation of the strategy of irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan.
The high level of interaction achieved in recent years was noted with particular satisfaction. Currently, the project portfolio amounts to $14 billion in such areas as green energy, transport, digital transformation, education and others.
The leader of our country advocated the preparation of a new Full-Scale Strategic Partnership Program with the ADB, including new projects in the field of infrastructure development, public-private partnerships, business, social sphere, capital market.
Special attention focused on promoting projects to combat poverty, processing critical minerals, budget support, creating a joint investment platform.
Measures for preparing and holding next year's Annual Meeting of the Bank's Board of Governors in Uzbekistan were also discussed.
