The President of Uzbekistan met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
On the sidelines of events in Davos, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso.
The practical aspects of further deepening the strategic partnership and expanding interaction with this leading financial institution were considered.
The bank’s cooperation with our country is of a sustainable strategic nature. Uzbekistan remains the EBRD's largest partner in the region. The bank's investments amounted to almost $7 billion.
In 2025, the volume of operations exceeded $1 billion, including those aimed at supporting the private sector.
The EBRD's contribution to the development of green energy, modernization of transport infrastructure, implementation of environmental programs, financial market reform and promotion of entrepreneurship is highly appreciated.
Priority areas of cooperation for the current year have been identified, including the development of the private sector, infrastructure, digital transformation of railway transport and others.
Particular attention was paid to the continuation of programs to train women and youth in modern professions and business.
