The President of Uzbekistan met with the Premier of the State Council of China
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of our state cordially congratulated the Premier of the State Council of the PRC and the entire Chinese people on the 80th anniversary of the great Victory, as well as the successful holding of the SCO summit in Tianjin.
It is emphasized that thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the leaders of the two countries, Uzbek-Chinese relations have reached the level of an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era and “mature” multifaceted cooperation.
Last year, trade turnover reached $14 billion and continues to grow steadily. The potential for bringing this figure to $20 billion was noted, including by increasing supplies and ensuring a balance of exports and imports.
For these purposes, it was also proposed to create a joint Center for Quantum Metrology and a regional Center for Industrial Standardization in Uzbekistan to harmonize standards and certification of products based on Chinese requirements.
The portfolio of joint projects exceeds 60 billion dollars.
In preparation for the current visit, a package of new project proposals has been formed in the areas of green energy, geology, chemistry, deep processing of rare earth metals, coal chemistry, modernization and digitalization of transport infrastructure, agriculture and water management, seed farming, and agrovoltaics.
It was proposed to create an Uzbek-Chinese center for the development of artificial intelligence to promote scientific research and promising startups.
Issues of deepening practical interaction with leading banking and financial institutions of China were also considered.
The results of the meeting of the special Subcommittee on Poverty Alleviation and the Second Forum of Regions this year in Uzbekistan.
Practical work is underway on the project for the construction of the strategic railway Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan - China, including with the involvement of Uzbek contractors.
The signing of the Agreement on the mutual opening of cultural centers during the current visit was noted with satisfaction.
This year the second Educational Forum will be held in Uzbekistan. For the first time, the Vocational Education Forum was held in Chongqing, and the Uzbek-Chinese Alliance was created in this direction. “Lu Ban Workshops” will be opened in the regions of Uzbekistan.
The fruitful activities of the Confucius Institutes in Tashkent and Samarkand were noted.
The parties also advocated for a further increase in the number of flights and intensification of tourist exchanges.
In conclusion, the President of our country invited The Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
