The President of Uzbekistan took part in a special event in preparation for the Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of the region
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a special event on August 5 dedicated to the preparation and holding of the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Central Asia.
The event was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev and Prime Minister Ali Asadov of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as members of official delegations and representatives of the public.
In accordance with the agenda, the main aspects of preparation for the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in the city of Tashkent were considered.
The leader of our country informed about the ongoing joint work within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in this format. In particular, at the beginning of the year, the Concept of Chairmanship and the Schedule of Joint Events were adopted.
Meetings were held between secretaries of security councils, heads of intelligence services, ministers of industry, energy, water resources and ecology, media and youth forums.
An inter-parliamentary forum, meetings of the ministers of defense, trade and transport, as well as cultural and humanitarian events are planned before the end of the year events.
To form a new agenda for regional partnership and strengthen its regulatory framework, conceptual documents for the meeting are being prepared.
It was emphasized that within the framework of the Tashkent summit, the Uzbek side intends to put forward a number of initiatives to deepen the political dialogue, launch new drivers of economic cooperation, and increase cross-border trade. The focus will be on practical cooperation in the water and energy spheres, expanding transport connectivity, as well as in the field of climate change.
The participation of the Azerbaijani side in the meetings was noted with satisfaction. Today, the states of the region cooperate fruitfully with Azerbaijan. Projects are being implemented in the field of trade, transport, and “green” energy.
In conclusion, the President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that coordinated and coordinated approaches of the countries of Central Asia will allow achieving common goals of regional development and prosperity.
