The President of Uzbekistan received the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received on December 17 a delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea led by Speaker Woo Won Shik, who arrived in our country to participate in the third meeting of the heads of parliaments of the Republic of Korea and the states of Central Asia.
At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung to the head of our state.
Issues of further development of the special strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, including through parliaments.
Intensive political and interparliamentary contacts were noted with satisfaction. The volume of trade turnover and Korean investments are growing, primarily in the modernization of the economy and the creation of high-tech industries.
Humanitarian and educational exchanges are expanding.
4 branches of leading Korean universities are successfully operating in Uzbekistan, as well as vocational education centers in the regions of the country.
Support was expressed for the implementation of cooperation projects in the areas of infrastructure development, transport and logistics, processing of rare metals and critical raw materials, as well as the digitalization of legislative activity and the implementation of advanced management solutions.
The importance of preparing an Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Program, as well as intensifying the work of “friendship groups” in parliaments was emphasized.
The need was pointed out careful preparation of the agenda for upcoming events at the highest level, including within the framework of the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” summit.
