The President of Uzbekistan received the heads of parliaments of Arab countries
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the heads of Arab parliaments on April 7 on the sidelines of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union states.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Arab Parliament Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Yamahi, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Parliament of Bahrain Ahmad bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt Hanafi Ali Al-Gebali, Chairman of the Oman Shura Council Khalid bin Hilal Al-Maawali, Chairman of the Qatar Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim and Chairman of the Committee of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi.
Issues of further development of multifaceted relations with the states of the Arab world, including through parliamentary relations were considered.
At the beginning of the meeting, the heads of delegations conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the leaders of their leaders to the leader of Uzbekistan countries.
It was noted with deep satisfaction that in recent years the comprehensive partnership between Uzbekistan and the countries of the Arab world has been developing dynamically.
Historic visits at the highest level have been carried out, active mutual contacts and exchanges are maintained.
Relations with the United Arab Emirates and the State Qatar has reached the level of strategic partnership; comprehensive cooperation has been established with Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Comprehensive cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman is consistently developing.
The portfolio of investment projects with these countries exceeded $50 billion. Projects are being implemented in the fields of green energy, chemical industry, agriculture, IT industry, transport and logistics, infrastructure and tourism. About 500 joint ventures have been created, the number of direct flights exceeds 150 per week.
Current issues on the regional agenda were considered, including resolving the situation in the Middle East.
The schedule of upcoming high-level events was considered, primarily the holding of the second summit of the dialogue "Central Asia - Gulf Cooperation Council" in May this year in the city of Samarkand.
