The President of Uzbekistan receives the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who arrived in the country to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The meeting was also attended by executives from Azerbaijani companies PASHA Holding, Neqsol Holding, and AzerGold, as well as the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

Ali Asadov conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, to the President of Uzbekistan.

In turn, the Leader of Uzbekistan congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the holiday celebrated the day before – National Salvation Day.

Current issues regarding the expansion and strengthening of friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were discussed.

Active contacts at all levels were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover has increased by 40 percent since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects are being successfully implemented across construction, energy, mining, geology, logistics, tourism, and other sectors.

The importance of thorough preparation by the governments of the two countries for the economic agenda of the upcoming highest-level summit was emphasized.

In this context, the need to ensure the effectiveness of the planned meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regions was emphasized.
