The President of Uzbekistan received the heads of parliamentary delegations of Central Asian countries
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received on April 7 the heads of parliamentary delegations of the Central Asian countries who arrived in our country to participate in the 150th Assembly Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The joint meeting was attended by Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov, Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Republic of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda and Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova.
The distinguished guests conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the leaders of their countries to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, especially noting the significance of the international event being held for the first time in our region.
Issues of further strengthening and deepening relations of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance between fraternal countries were considered.
The fruitful results of the first Central Asia – European Union summit and Climate Forum, held on April 4 in Samarkand, were highly appreciated.
Intense contacts at the highest and highest levels were noted with particular satisfaction. The historical nature of the recent meetings in the region was emphasized, including the full settlement of border delimitation issues and the signing in the city of Khujand of the Agreement on the junction of the state borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
In recent years, trade turnover between countries in the region has increased tenfold, border trade zones are being created.
Cooperation projects are being successfully implemented in various sectors of the economy, including in the regions of our countries. Programs of intense cultural and educational cooperation are being implemented.
During the meeting, the importance of strengthening parliamentary dialogue, including at the committee level, was emphasized to bring the two countries and peoples closer, promoting joint initiatives and cooperation projects, expanding interregional contacts and humanitarian exchange.
