The President of Uzbekistan received the SCO Secretary General

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan On March 5, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Nurlan Ermekbayev, who is visiting our country.
Current issues of expanding multilateral partnership within this authoritative organization were discussed.
The importance of increasing practical cooperation in the fight against common challenges and threats to stability and security was emphasized, as well as further deepening cooperation based on the principles of good neighborliness, trust and partnership.
Particular attention was paid to the continuation of the process of modernizing the activities of the SCO, launched at the Samarkand summit, including increasing the efficiency of the work of all structures of the Association.
The need to implement the Development Concept of the “New Economic Dialogue” and a number of other initiatives of our country was noted. We are talking about the adoption of an agreement on trade facilitation, an e-commerce program, a set of measures to stimulate investment, a digitalization plan in logistics, the SCO Future Technologies program, the Food Security Atlas and others.
Issues of preparation for the upcoming SCO summit in China were also discussed.
