The parties discussed current issues related to strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States, with particular emphasis on trade and economic cooperation.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum in business contacts and with the steady growth of bilateral trade and investment.
The practical outcomes of the recent roundtable with American businesses, held as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the context of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO and to continued U.S. support for this process.
The parties noted the importance of effectively using the U.S. – Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council mechanism to identify and promote new project initiatives.
