The President of Uzbekistan received the delegation of Pakistan
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received on August 19 the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Sakhir Shamshad Mirza.
The distinguished guest conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the head of our state from the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif.
The issues of further development of Uzbek-Pakistan relations of multifaceted cooperation and strategic partnership were discussed in the context of the implementation of agreements reached during the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Uzbekistan in February of this year.
The intensification of mutual contacts and exchanges at different levels was noted with satisfaction. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has increased by 23 percent, cargo transportation by 50 percent. Trading houses have been opened in the cities of Karachi and Lahore. The frequency of direct flights has increased.
Issues of practical cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres, as well as in the field of combating modern challenges and security threats are considered.
Special attention is paid to the speedy practical implementation of the provisions of the signed trilateral agreement on the Trans-Afghan Railway construction project.
