The President of Uzbekistan received members of the Parliamentary League of Friendship
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, Chairman of the Parliamentary League of Friendship with Uzbekistan Taro Aso, who is also the chairman of the League of Friendship with the countries of Central Asia.
At the meeting, in which members of the league also participated, current issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership relations, including through the parliaments of the two countries, were considered.
The contribution of the Friendship League, especially its chairman Taro Aso, to the development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
The importance of further building up inter-parliamentary contacts and strengthening the role of parliamentary “friendship groups” in promoting joint initiatives was noted.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize the next Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Uzbekistan in 2026.
