The President of Uzbekistan supported plans to develop cooperation with the International Automobile Federation

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) on December 9, led by its President Mohammed bin Sulayem, located in our country as part of participation in the General Assembly of this authoritative structure, held in the city of Tashkent.

The delegation also included the President of the FIA Senate, Carmelo Sanz de Barros, and the Deputy President of the Federation for Automobile Mobility and Tourism, Tim Shireman.

Current issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with this global organization that regulates motorsports and promotes road safety.

Mohammed bin Sulayem highly appreciated the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at developing professional and mass sports, promoting a healthy lifestyle, increasing the physical activity of the population, raising a harmoniously developed generation.

The importance of close cooperation in the development of the entire spectrum of motor sports in our country was noted country - from karting to formula racing.

Particular attention is paid to the federation’s assistance in the training of Uzbek pilots, karting drivers, engineers, designers and mechanics using the capabilities of the FIA University, the creation of a modern motorsport infrastructure in Uzbekistan, the implementation of programs to ensure the safety of the movement of people and transport, as well as the holding of international competitions under the auspices of the FIA, primarily Formula 1 stages.

At the end of the meeting, for his great personal contribution to the development of cooperation with the International Motor Sports Federation, as well as the popularization of motorsports in Uzbekistan in accordance with international standards, the leader of our country presented the head of the FIA with a high state award - the Order of Dustlik.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan has been an active member of the federation since 2019. Last year, an extraordinary anniversary General Assembly of the FIA ​​was held in the city of Samarkand, dedicated to its 120th anniversary. As part of the current event, on December 12, the best athletes and teams will be awarded at the Humo Arena complex with the participation of high-ranking foreign guests and champion pilots.
