The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary dialogue with the United States
As part of participation in the events of the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly on September 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received at his residence a member of the US Congress, Chairman of the Caucus for Cooperation with Uzbekistan" in the House of Representatives Trent Kelly and the commander of the Mississippi National Guard, Major General Bobby Ginn.
Issues of further expanding the Uzbek-American strategic partnership relations, including strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue were considered.
The dynamic development of inter-parliamentary contacts and exchanges was noted with satisfaction. Representatives of the Senate and House of Representatives of Congress regularly visit Uzbekistan. The Caucus for Cooperation with Uzbekistan is active and its membership is expanding. Every year, the Congress holds the Days of Uzbekistan, which contribute to strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
The trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties with the American state of Mississippi were highly appreciated.
The importance of the Congress’s support for further building up the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States, the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the summit was emphasized level.
As a result of the conversation, it was agreed to organize visits to Uzbekistan in the near future by the Congressional delegation and the Mississippi business mission.
