The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of expanding practical cooperation with the European Union
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Eduards Stiprais on May 13.
The EU Special Representative conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
Issues of expanding bilateral and regional cooperation were discussed in the context of the practical implementation of the decisions of the first Central Asia - European Union summit, held in April this year in the city Samarkand.
Particular attention was paid to the speedy preparation and promotion of specific investment and financial-technical cooperation projects worth 12 billion euros.
Views were exchanged on the current regional agenda, and the schedule of upcoming events was also considered.
