The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of the practical implementation of the “road map” of cooperation with St. Petersburg
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Russian delegation led by the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander on September 10 Beglov.
The issues of further expansion of mutually beneficial Uzbek-Russian cooperation were considered, primarily the implementation of economic cooperation projects and cultural and humanitarian exchange programs with the city of St. Petersburg.
The growth in mutual trade turnover indicators was noted with satisfaction - according to the results of last year, the volume of export-import transactions was at the level regions increased by 20 percent. Work is underway to launch the activities of the Business Center in our capital, as well as to prepare a project for the construction of the “St. Petersburg Quarter” on the territory of New Tashkent.
During the current visit of the Russian delegation, a “road map” was adopted for the implementation of 23 cooperation projects in such areas as metallurgy, instrument making, road construction, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, the food industry, agriculture, logistics and other areas.
Specific proposals were supported to expand practical cooperation in the development of private medicine, education, public utilities, digital technologies, migration and tourism.
Important attention was paid to the continuation of active humanitarian contacts and the regular organization of joint cultural events.
An agreement was reached on taking measures aimed to ensure the effective holding of the second meeting of the Council of Regions of the two countries in October of this year.
