The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of parliamentary control over the implementation of agreements with Pakistan
On April 7, as part of the program of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by the Chairman of the Senate Yusuf Raza Gilani.
At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the head of our state from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The growing dynamics of the development of Uzbek-Pakistan strategic partnership relations were noted with deep satisfaction.
The volume of mutual trade, the number of joint ventures and direct flights are increasing, business forums and exhibitions are regularly held with the participation of leading companies of the two countries.
Particular attention is paid to strengthening the role of parliaments in ensuring the effective implementation of agreements reached during the recent historic high-level visit to Uzbekistan.
The importance is noted accelerating priority projects and programs in the trade, economic, investment and transport spheres, including promoting the construction of the Trans-Afghan Corridor, as well as expanding interregional cooperation and humanitarian exchange.
