The President of Uzbekistan discussed plans for developing partnerships in the field of critical minerals with leading American companies
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his stay in New York City, received the heads of leading American companies at his residence.
The delegation included Chairman of the Board of Directors of Traxys Alan Dockter, Vice President of the Colorado School of Geology John Bradford, Senior Vice President of FLSmidth Peter Flanagan, Senior Partner and Head of the Central Asia Office of McKinsey Ermolai Solzhenitsyn and General Director of Go Green Partners Mikhail Sedoy.
Practical aspects of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with these companies were considered leading US companies and organizations.
Traxys is one of the world's leading suppliers of critical raw materials and minerals, including those needed for the energy transition. The company has formed a portfolio of promising projects in the field of geological exploration and field development worth $1 billion. An agreement and roadmap have been adopted to implement advanced technologies and knowledge in the extraction, processing and creation of sustainable supply chains for critical minerals.
Colorado School of Mines is a leading engineering university in training specialists for the mining industry.
The establishment of a Competency Center at the University of Geological Sciences is being developed with this educational institution Uzbekistan.
FLSmidth develops technologies and equipment for the mining and processing industries. The company is actively involved in the development of the copper industry in our country.
McKinsey is a leading management, consulting and strategic development company in the mining industry. Together with the company, a strategy has been prepared for the development of the raw material base, expansion of capacity and deep transformation of the mining industry of Uzbekistan.
Go Green Partners specializes in investing in the extraction and processing of critical minerals for green energy. The company plans to conduct geological exploration in promising areas.
The total capitalization of these companies exceeds 20 billion US dollars.
In order to speed up projects and prepare new proposals, an agreement was reached to create a joint working group and adopt a “road map”.
