The President of Uzbekistan outlined the priorities of cooperation with American business
As part of the business program of his visit to New York City, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a round table with the heads of leading American companies, investment funds and financial institutions.
The event was attended by US Presidential Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gore, Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Paolo Zampolli, Deputy Secretary of Commerce William Kimmitt, Chairman of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, representatives of the US business elite, including top managers of Franklin Templeton, Citigroup, BNY Mellon, NASDAQ, Boeing, Mastercard, Visa, General Motors, Nvidia, Oppenheimer, Jefferies, Air Products, Traxys, FLSmidth, GoGreen Partners, Cleveland Clinic, Cargill, as well as heads of large Uzbek companies.
At the beginning of his speech, the head of our state emphasized that during a recent conversation with US President Donald Trump, an agreement was reached to increase economic cooperation and form a solid portfolio of projects for the long term. In this regard, the special significance of the current meeting was noted in the context of promoting these tasks.
In recent years, multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States has reached a high level. Trade turnover has increased 4 times over 8 years. More than 300 American companies have invested capital in Uzbekistan.
The National Investment Fund was created jointly with Franklin Templeton.
The priorities of the economic and innovative partnership are the promotion of specific projects for the processing of critical minerals and the formation of sustainable supply chains, in the fields of IT, artificial intelligence, digitalization, development of transport, energy and social infrastructure, “smart” agriculture, the introduction of advanced technologies and many others.
In turn, the heads of leading American companies and banks, thanking the President of Uzbekistan for creating favorable conditions for their fruitful activities, voiced their plans to participate in the implementation of important projects and programs in these industries.

Based on the results of the “round table” with heads of leading American companies, investment funds and financial institutions, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the special envoy of the US President Sergio Gore, held a ceremony for the exchange of bilateral agreements.
In particular, the following documents were signed on the implementation of trade, economic and investment cooperation projects:
- Agreement on long-term cooperation in the field transport between the Ministry of Transport and the Boeing company;
- Agreement on the creation of a joint venture for the production of mining equipment between Technopark LLC and the company "FLSmidth";
- Agreement on the creation of a multidisciplinary clinic and educational institution between the Akfa group and Cleveland Clinic;
- Agreement on mutual partnership and cooperation between the airline "Centrum Air" and the investment company "Oppenheimer";
- Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the company "Citigroup";
- Agreement on financial cooperation between JSC "Uzbekhydroenergo" and the company "Cargill Financial Services International";
- Agreement on cooperation between Uztransgaz JSC and Pangea Filtration Technology;
- Agreement on geological exploration at promising sites between the Ministry of Mining and Geology and the Cove Capital company;
- Agreement on cooperation between Yangi Kon LLC and the company "SLB";
- Agreement on cooperation on the creation of funds to finance projects in the field of artificial intelligence and biotechnology between the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and the company "Biologic International".
