The President of Uzbekistan and the King of Jordan agreed to take bilateral cooperation to a new level
At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the King of Jordan Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein is visiting our country with the state visit.
On August 26, in the city of Samarkand, the main events of the visit began with the official welcoming ceremony of the head of Jordan.
A guard of honor was lined up on the square in front of the Congress Center building. The President of Uzbekistan warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and invited him to the podium.
The military orchestra performed the national anthems of the two countries.
The President of Uzbekistan and the King of Jordan walked around the guard of honor and greeted the members of the official delegation.

As part of the state visit to our country, the King of Jordan Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein, accompanied by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, got acquainted with the exposition of export-oriented products produced in our country.
A wide range of products was exhibited at the Congress Center of Samarkand a range of high-quality products for foreign markets that meet international standards.
The distinguished guest is presented with detailed information about technological stages, production capacities, innovations and the latest equipment used in industries such as mining, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, jewelry, agriculture and the IT sector.
The exhibition included includes samples of finished industrial goods with high added value: medicines, medical equipment, mineral fertilizers, textiles, knitwear and jewelry, handicrafts, IT solutions and others.
The leader of Jordan highly appreciated the products and industrial potential of Uzbekistan. The heads of state emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between leading enterprises, mutual exchange of experience and technology transfer.

Negotiations between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II bin al-Hussein.
The issues of further development of political dialogue and cultural and humanitarian exchanges, increasing trade, economic and investment cooperation were discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, the King of Jordan expressed sincere gratitude to the head of our state for the invitation, as well as the warm and welcoming welcome provided to the Jordanian delegation.
It was emphasized that the first high-level visit in the history of diplomatic relations will open a new stage in bilateral cooperation and will bring it to the level of a comprehensive partnership.
The strengthening relations of traditional friendship and multifaceted practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Jordan, as well as the similarity of reform strategies implemented in the two countries, were noted.
The leaders noted with satisfaction the effective interaction and emphasized the need to actively continue mutual support for initiatives within the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international structures.
The need to continue a constructive dialogue between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries and close interdepartmental contacts was emphasized.
The readiness for a multiple increase in bilateral trade indicators, the practical implementation of joint investment projects and trade contracts was confirmed.
An agreement was reached to increase cooperation in such areas as the chemical and textile industries, smart agriculture, geology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, tourism and other industries.
It is proposed to launch the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council and hold their first meetings by the end of this year. The establishment of long-term partnerships between business circles will be facilitated by the holding of an Uzbek-Jordanian business forum with the participation of leading companies and manufacturers of the two countries.
Willness was expressed to further enhance cultural, educational and tourist exchanges, including through joint cultural weeks, concerts, expositions and exhibitions.
Friendly ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Jordan have a long history and today are receiving new impetus for development. In this context, issues of developing cooperation in the field of joint study of the common spiritual heritage, strengthening cooperation between research centers and institutes of Islamic studies of the two countries were discussed.
The parties agreed on the need to jointly promote the ideas of tolerant and enlightened Islam. The head of our state highly appreciated the initiative of King Abdullah II “Aqaba Process”, launched 10 years ago, and proposed holding one of the upcoming meetings of this important initiative in the city of Samarkand.
It was noted that the launch of regular flights between the capitals of the two countries and the introduction of a visa-free regime will contribute to the growth of business contacts and an increase in mutual tourist flow.
Views were also exchanged on current issues of the global and regional agenda.
At the end of the negotiations, King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein invited the head of our state to pay a visit to Jordan.

Following the results of fruitful negotiations held in the city of Samarkand, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the King The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein adopted a Joint Statement on strengthening partnership relations.
In total, 15 bilateral documents were signed during the visit, in particular:
– Extradition Agreement;
– Mutual Encouragement Agreement and protection of investments;
– Agreement on the establishment of the Joint Commission;
– Agreement on the abolition of visa requirements;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism;
– Protocol on amendments to the intergovernmental Agreement on Air Services;
– Protocol on the online exchange of preliminary information on the movement of goods and vehicles;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of plant protection and quarantine;
– Agreement on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine;
– Memorandum in the field of standardization, metrology and conformity assessment;

As part of the state visit of the King of Jordan, a ceremony was held awarding the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Order of Jordan "An-Nahda" (Renaissance).
The highest award of this country to the head of our state was personally presented by the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein.
– I accept this award with great honor as worthy recognition and appreciation of our common efforts to expand multifaceted cooperation, as well as a sign of friendly relations and respect for the people of Uzbekistan, who are creating the foundations of the Third Renaissance in our country,” the President emphasized.
As a result of the historic visit of the King of Jordan to Uzbekistan and fruitful negotiations, relations between our countries have been brought to a new level of partnership.
The leaders agreed to comprehensively develop cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The head of our state specifically noted the contribution of King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein to the rapid development of Jordan, the country’s implementation of a peaceful foreign policy, the growth of its authority and influence in the international community.
The President of our country emphasized that this high award will take its rightful place as a symbol of strong friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Jordan.
In conclusion, the head of our state again thanked King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein for the high award and wished peace and prosperity to the people of Jordan.

At the end of the Uzbek-Jordanian summit, a joint tree planting ceremony took place.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and King of Jordan Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein planted an oak tree in the park of the Samarkand Congress Center.
The ceremony symbolized the beginning of a new stage in Uzbek-Jordanian relations and the commitment of the leaders to strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

The day before, the heads of the two states visited the sights of Samarkand. Today we held fruitful negotiations, during which we outlined priorities and promising areas for the development of cooperation, and agreed to take bilateral relations to a new level.
At the end of the events at Samarkand International Airport, the distinguished guest was conducted by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
At this point, the head of state completed his trip to Samarkand and returned to Tashkent.
