The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the President of the House of Councilors of the Parliament of Japan
During an official visit to Japan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the House of Councilors of the Parliament of this country Masakazu Sekiguchi
At the meeting it was noted that parliaments play a significant role in promoting the Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation. Representatives of the House of Councilors took an active part in the anniversary 150th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tashkent in April this year.
Particular attention was paid to supporting youth parliamentary initiatives, including the Forum of Young Parliamentarians of Uzbekistan and Japan, the participation of the Japanese delegation in the Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Samarkand in 2026.
The importance of parliaments’ comprehensive assistance in the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level was emphasized, primarily on the expansion of trade, economic, financial, investment, technological, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
