The President began his trip to Syrdarya
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev began a trip to the Syrdarya region on December 4. The first point of the visit was a visit to the River Med Pharm enterprise in the Syrdarya region.
This pharmaceutical enterprise is one of the leaders in the production of infusion drugs. Today, it accounts for 20 percent of the total production of infusion solutions in Uzbekistan.
Such medicines are considered one of the most important medical products. Their production requires more complex technological solutions than the production of standard tablet preparations, since the solution directly enters the circulatory system. Consequently, they must be manufactured under absolutely sterile conditions, with high precision and in full compliance with international standards.
The total cost of the project exceeds $30 million, and the company currently employs 750 people. Annual capacity is 114 million units of medicines of 70 types for a total amount of 135 billion soums. They are in demand on the foreign market, 20 percent of the products are exported.
In November of this year, the second stage of the project was launched, ensuring a further increase in production capacity. The production volume will be 30 million units of infusion solutions, more than 70 million units of dry antibiotics and almost 20 million units of eye and nasal drops.
The head of state got acquainted with the products and presentation on the next stage of the project.
In the future, the range of products produced at the enterprise will be increased to 200 items. At this stage, the production of injection solutions in glass and plastic bottles, as well as tablets and capsules will be mastered. The number of jobs will be increased to a thousand.
Here the President talked with the region’s activists.
An open discussion took place on important issues relating to the economy, industry, agriculture, youth education and the future of the region. The head of our state emphasized that the initiative of citizens is a decisive factor in increasing the effectiveness of reforms.
— Changes should be felt, first of all, in mahallas. You need to constantly communicate with people and show young people the right path. If we are all active, our actions and ongoing reforms will definitely yield results. We came to Syrdarya with big plans. We will discuss and implement these plans together,” the President said.
