President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates President of Kazakhstan on successful Kurultai elections

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan warmly congratulated the President of Kazakhstan on the successful conduct of the country’s first elections to the unicameral Kurultai.

Confidence was expressed that the new Kurultai will become an important factor in further advancing consistent reforms in Kazakhstan, provide effective legislative support for large-scale transformations, and give new impetus to the country’s sustainable development.

The heads of state noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

They focused particularly on further expanding mutual trade, strengthening industrial cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, developing transport and logistics ties, and creating new opportunities to intensify business contacts between the regions of the two countries.

The leaders also exchanged views on topical issues on the regional and international agenda.
