President of Uzbekistan Receives Foreign Minister of Tajikistan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the C5+1 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the President of Uzbekistan.

The meeting focused on further strengthening the relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, particularly through the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.

The growing momentum of cooperation across all areas was welcomed. Bilateral trade and freight transportation continue to increase, while joint projects in energy, industry, agriculture and water management are progressing steadily.

The importance of expanding cultural, humanitarian, educational and tourism exchanges was also emphasized.

The two sides also discussed key regional issues.
