Plans for construction materials presented
On May 19, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation on the state of affairs and priority tasks in the construction materials industry.
Population growth and expanding urbanization annually increase the demand for quality building materials. In accordance with this, the industry itself is developing: numerous projects are being implemented, almost 10 thousand enterprises are currently operating.
In the first quarter of this year, production volume increased by 8 percent, exports by 11 percent. As part of the investment program, 9 large projects worth $500 million were launched. Trading houses of Uzbekistan have been opened in the cities of Dushanbe, Kabul and Philadelphia.
However, there are still many challenges ahead. By the end of the year, it is planned to implement 312 projects totaling $2.4 billion, create 16 thousand high-paying jobs, increase production volume to 53 trillion soums, and exports to $1.2 billion.
During the presentation, responsible persons reported on measures aimed at achieving these indicators.
The head of state emphasized that the issues quality, cost and construction culture are the most relevant in the industry. The task has been set to introduce modern technologies, increase the competitiveness of domestic products and more actively use them in construction within the country.
On this path, science and applied developments play an important role. In this regard, an R&D research center was created and an expert from Germany was brought in.
As an example, the work that has begun on the production of roll concrete coverings for irrigation canals and ditches is given. Calculations show that it is possible to reduce the time and money spent on concreting by 10 percent, and water consumption by 3-5 percent.
The President also drew attention to the need to supply products with high added value to both the domestic and foreign markets, emphasizing the importance of geology and a scientific approach. The need to analyze energy- and resource-intensive areas and apply effective innovative solutions was pointed out.
Thus, according to the results of an energy audit of large enterprises in the industry conducted last year, it was revealed that up to 300 million kilowatt-hours can be saved. It was emphasized that cost reduction is possible through updating technology and rational organization of the production process.
The task was set to create a register of enterprises producing construction materials on the Shaffof Qurilish platform and through it to ensure control over product quality.
