Festive greetings on Peoples' Friendship Day
Dear compatriots!
I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, congratulate you, representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities, living in our country as a single and friendly family, and in your person, all our multinational people, since July 30 - the Day of Friendship of Peoples, I express to all of you my deep respect and best wishes.
Undoubtedly, it deserves attention that the ethnic diversity that has been preserved on our land since ancient times, being a unique social phenomenon, today, in the conditions of New Uzbekistan, takes on a new meaning and content, continuity and traditions.
I think you will also agree that largely thanks to this, peace, friendship, goodness and harmony reign in our country, the honor, dignity and happiness of man are exalted.
Dear friends!
We have identified the development of interethnic relations as an important factor of peace and stability as a priority directions in building a democratic legal state and a free civil society and carry out enormous practical work in this area.
First of all, state policy in this area has been radically improved, its legal and institutional foundations have been strengthened.
The most important thing is that in this direction effective cooperation has been established between state and non-state organizations, their capabilities have been consolidated, and a large-scale systemic work.
I’ll give one example. Our 157 national cultural centers, 42 friendship societies and more than 100 public associations of compatriots abroad, together with government organizations of the republic, are achieving significant positive results in strengthening the atmosphere of friendship and tolerance, harmony of national and universal values in Uzbekistan, the comprehensive development of cultural and educational ties with foreign countries and public diplomacy.
We are rightfully proud of our compatriots - representatives of different nations and nationalities, who, with their honest work and patriotic qualities, make an invaluable contribution to increasing the socio-economic potential of the republic. They work conscientiously in various responsible positions in state and public organizations, and receive high awards from the Motherland for their dedicated service. We all know well that among them there are deputies and senators, famous representatives of production, entrepreneurs, figures in the fields of education, medicine, science, culture, literature, art and sports.
Such our compatriots, who have linked their fate and future with Uzbekistan, also contribute to strengthening friendship and cooperation between their historical homelands and our country.
National cultural centers constantly take an active part in celebrations dedicated to Navruz and Independence Day, which have become truly national, very expensive holidays for all of us, as well as in other public events.
It should be emphasized that the holiday we all celebrate today - Peoples' Friendship Day - is another great opportunity for a vivid demonstration of the rich culture, traditions and customs of our people, embodied in ideals of peace, friendship and goodness.
Indeed, our common achievement is that in recent years, thanks to our strong political will, friendly ties with the fraternal states of the region have been raised to a new level, such a concept and reality as the “Central Asian Spirit” has appeared in world politics. When it comes to this, it should be noted that the installation of the Friendship Stele at the junction of the borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in March of this year was another confirmation of the strengthening relations of good neighborliness and strategic partnership between us.
Dear compatriots!
In the current extremely difficult conditions, when conflicts on national and religious grounds continue in different regions of the world, we, based on the principle of a united Uzbekistan, will continue to consistently continue to work to further strengthen our greatest wealth - calm and stability in the country, an atmosphere of mutual respect and harmony, and the education of young people in the spirit of national and universal values, with deep knowledge and modern professions, as well as deepening the areas of inclusiveness.
We mobilize all opportunities to strengthen the protection of the rights and interests of representatives of all nations and faiths who are proud to be citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as our compatriots abroad, based on the requirements of the Constitution and laws.
I am convinced that you, my dears, will continue to work selflessly, make every effort, and even more fully utilize your knowledge and experience, talent and skill, professional and human potential in order to increase the economic power of our Motherland, increase its authority and status in the international arena.
Once again, I sincerely congratulate you all on today’s wonderful holiday.
I wish you good health, new successes in your noble activities for the development of the country, family happiness, prosperity and prosperity for your homes.
May our native Uzbekistan always prosper!
Shavkat MIRZIYOEV,
