Festive greetings to the people of Uzbekistan
Dear compatriots!
I sincerely congratulate you, all our multinational people, on the sacred holiday - Memorial Day and honors and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in World War II, I express to you my great respect and best wishes.
In these joyful and at the same time sad moments, we remember our fathers and grandfathers who made a worthy contribution to the liberation of humanity from fascism, we bow to their blessed memory.
We express special gratitude and congratulations to our respected veterans of war and labor, who today, with their wise advice, are actively participating in the creation of the New Uzbekistan.
Undoubtedly, on this bright holiday, glorifying the defenders of our peaceful and calm life, we consider it our duty and honor to pay tribute to the brave servicemen who died heroically during the years of independence in the name of the freedom and well-being of the Motherland and people.
Dear friends!
We will never forget the severe suffering, incalculable troubles and losses that the most destructive Second World War in the history of mankind brought to the peoples of the world, including our people.
This is a chronicle of real courage and heroism, the greatness of which is beyond our control time.
We are rightfully proud of our staunch people, who made a worthy contribution to the glorious victory.
In recent years, thanks to the research of our scientists and specialists, hitherto unknown pages of the history of the Second World War have been opened.
According to documentary evidence, of the 6 million 800 thousand people living in the republic at that time, almost 2 million took part in the bloody battles against fascism. About 540 thousand of them died at the front, 158 thousand were missing, over 50 thousand were tortured in concentration camps, more than 60 thousand returned home disabled.
About 214 thousand soldiers and officers from Uzbekistan were awarded military orders and medals, 301 were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, more than 70 - Orders of Glory of three degrees. All this, of course, is an expression of recognition of the courage and bravery shown by our compatriots on the war fronts.
Another unforgettable page of that turbulent time - during the war, Uzbekistan turned into a reliable rear, ensuring the supply of a large amount of military equipment, weapons, medicines, clothing, food and other necessary products to the front from the republic.
More than 170 plants and factories were moved here from the front-line areas, 280 new enterprises were built in a short time.
Our people, who themselves experienced all the hardships of wartime, sheltered, showing sincere love and care, about 1 million 500 thousand people evacuated to Uzbekistan from territories scorched by the fire of war, including 250 thousand children who lost parents.
Today, once again recalling these facts, forever included in the book of history, we rightfully admire the true humanism, the high human qualities of our generous and tolerant people, who in any situation remained true to their noble convictions.
Dear compatriots!
In recent years, we have been doing a lot of work to deeply study and familiarize the general public with the life and work of our heroic ancestors, examples of their courage and perseverance, as well as educating the younger generation in the spirit of these glorious traditions.
Important The Victory Park created in Tashkent and the Vatanparvar gardens in the regions play a role in this. In a short period of time, they have become places of worship for our citizens and foreign guests.
The Millat Fidoyilari (Selflessly Devoted to the People) complex, built in honor of the defenders of the Motherland on the territory of Victory Park, is also extremely important as a continuation of our work in this direction.
I am sure that this memorial, where they are depicted in gold letters the names of hundreds of fallen brave military personnel and law enforcement officers will become another sacred place that our compatriots will visit with pride in their souls.
Dear friends!
Today the noble principle “In the name of man, in the name of his happiness” is penetrating more and more deeply into our lives.
This year’s awarding of a one-time cash payment in the amount of 10 thousand US dollars to each participant and disabled person of the Second World War, 25 million soums to persons equated to this category, 3 million soums to labor front participants and the anniversary medal “Ikkinchi Jahon Urushidagi Galabaning 80 Yilligi” is another practical manifestation of such care and attention to respected veterans.
War veterans and disabled people are provided with medical and social services, including patronage. If desired, they undergo treatment in sanatoriums.
On these joyful days, our people visit representatives of the older generation, respected war and labor veterans, receive their blessing.
With the participation of the heads of relevant ministries, departments and organizations, military units, visits are organized to war and labor veterans, family members of military personnel and law enforcement officers who died during the years of independence while performing their official duty, they are provided with the necessary assistance and assistance.
Of course, we are constantly indebted to these wonderful people who, without sparing their lives, fought for today's peace and freedom. They will continue to be surrounded by love and care from our state and society.
Dear compatriots!
In the current very difficult and alarming time, courage and the resilience shown during the Second World War by our fathers and grandfathers - heroes, will serve as an example for us, a source of strength and inspiration.
Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on the holiday, dear veterans, our entire people, I wish you health, prosperity and prosperity for your families.
May peace and tranquility always reign in our country, may ours be happy people!
