Homage to the memory of the First President
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the foot of the monument to Islam Karimov in the city of Tashkent on January 30.
Historical memory is a solid foundation for the future of a nation. The invaluable services of the First President Islam Karimov in the establishment of Uzbekistan as an independent state, in creating the foundations of the country's statehood are remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
Thanks to the initiative and attention of the head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the memory of the First President was immortalized, his mausoleum was built in Samarkand. It has become a good tradition to hold memorial events on January 30, the birthday of Islam Karimov.
During the ceremony, suras from the Koran and duas were read. They spoke about the activities of the First President for the benefit of the Motherland and his human qualities.
The ceremony, held at the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov, was attended by representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Administration of the President and the government, scientists and cultural figures, and representatives of the public.
The memory of the First President was also honored laying flowers at his monuments in the cities of Samarkand and Karshi.
