Pakistan and Uzbekistan will continue to intensify cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, pharmaceuticals and tourism
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Industry and Production, Minister of Industry and Production Harun Akhtar Khan, as well as the President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Usman Shawkat.
During the meeting, issues of expanding industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, developing trade and economic cooperation, developing alternative transit and logistics routes, establishing air cargo transportation, as well as introducing an electronic visa regime for Pakistani citizens were discussed.
RCCI President Usman Shavkat informed about the results of the business mission of representatives of leading Pakistani business circles to Uzbekistan and the business forum held on November 10 in Tashkent as part of the International Achievement Awards and Business Opportunities Conference - 2025.
He noted that these events contributed to strengthening practical ties between the business circles of the two countries and promoting cooperation projects and the formation of mutual cooperation initiatives in new directions.
“The interest of Pakistani entrepreneurs in the Uzbekistan market is constantly growing,” he said. - During the business mission, preliminary agreements were reached on mutually beneficial projects in the field of trade, investment, industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and logistics.”
The Pakistani side expressed high interest in establishing air cargo transportation, and therefore it was proposed to hold online meetings between private airlines of Uzbekistan and Pakistani air carriers.
As a result of the meeting, in order to coordinate these issues, an agreement was reached to establish a permanent dialogue between the ministries of transport of the two countries.
