On August 17, 2026, in Tehran, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloyev met with Khamid Kanbariy, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Trade and Economic Affairs.
The meeting discussed the current state and prospects for developing trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, increasing the volume of bilateral trade, expanding the range of mutual supplies, and enhancing interaction between the business communities.
Particular attention was paid to developing transport and transit cooperation, improving the efficiency of existing routes, and creating favorable conditions for increasing the volume of freight transportation between Uzbekistan and Iran.
