The Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Tetsuya Yamada, Director General of the South Asia Department at Japan International Cooperation Agency.
The Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Tetsuya Yamada, Director General of the South Asia Department at Japan International Cooperation Agency.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects for the socio-economic development of Afghanistan.
The Japanese side highly praised Uzbekistan’s pragmatic approach toward Afghanistan, as well as the infrastructure established in the city of Termez, and expressed interest in utilizing its potential for the implementation of socially significant projects in the areas of education, healthcare, agriculture, private sector development, and counter-narcotics efforts, with the aim of improving the well-being of the Afghan people.
