The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, arrived on a working visit to this country.
At the airport in Turkmenbashi, the head of our state was met by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
On August 5, the leader of Uzbekistan will take part in the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a special event dedicated to preparations for the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. Asia, and will also hold a number of bilateral negotiations.

Upon arrival in the city of Turkmenbashi, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of our state sincerely congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the high-level holding of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, especially noting the vital importance of the issues included on its agenda for the sustainable development of our region.
Current issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of good neighborliness and strategic partnership in the context of the implementation of agreements reached at a meeting in Samarkand in April this year.
The growing dynamics of multifaceted cooperation based on the principles of friendship, mutual trust and consideration of common interests were noted with deep satisfaction.
Fruitful and active contacts continue at all levels. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has amounted to $600 million. Cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, transport, agriculture and water management, and other sectors of the economy is deepening.
The Shavat-Dashoguz border trade zone is being jointly created, active interregional contacts and humanitarian exchanges continue.
In preparation for the upcoming summits, it is planned to hold meetings of intergovernmental commissions, Business Council, Forum of Regions, a number of cultural events.
There was also a thorough exchange of views on the agenda of the UN Conference and the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia planned this fall in Tashkent.
