The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan reviewed current issues on the bilateral agenda
During a telephone conversation on June 7, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the sacred of the entire Muslim Ummah on the holiday of Kurban Hayit - Eid al-Adha. The leaders wished well-being and prosperity to the friendly peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The results of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the historic visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Uzbekistan in February of this year were discussed.
The progressive strengthening of the strategic partnership, intensification of contacts and exchanges in different countries were noted with satisfaction levels.
There is a noticeable increase in the volume of mutual trade and cargo transportation, and the frequency of direct flights is increasing. Projects are being implemented in the fields of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, textiles, logistics and other areas. Trading houses have been established in Lahore and Karachi.
The importance of the effective holding of the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the business forum planned this year was noted.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan also exchanged views on the regional agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
