The leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan held the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, arrived in Baku on a state visit.
At the capital's airport named after Heydar Aliyev, the head of our state was met by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyubov and other officials.
In honor of the distinguished guest, the national flags of the two countries were raised and a guard of honor was formed.

Issues of further strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance, as well as expanding cooperation and exchanges in priority areas of cooperation were considered.
The head of our state especially noted that the current state visit and the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council are taking place in the year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
– Never in history have our relations been at such the highest level as they are today,” the leader of Uzbekistan emphasized.
Presidents noted the dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation at all levels. Yesterday the first Interparliamentary Forum took place in Khiva. The meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regions were fruitfully held in Baku. Recently, the first Forum of Rectors was organized in Andijan, where more than 60 agreements were signed. The Azerbaijani ensemble “Shirvan” won the Grand Prix of the Bakhshi Festival in Khiva.
In the Year of Economic Cooperation, trade turnover increased by 25 percent. The project portfolio has reached $4 billion. There are about 300 joint ventures.
During the visit, the construction of the Uzbekistan Park in Baku will be launched and a new building of the embassy of our country in Azerbaijan will be opened.
An agreement was reached to continue practical interaction at the level of parliaments, governments, ministries and regions. The importance of mutual support within international structures was confirmed.
The possibilities of increasing trade turnover and investment to $1 billion annually were considered in detail. It was noted that a separate Cooperation Program is being adopted, which will include projects in industry, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, the banking sector and other areas.
The importance of expanding the activities of the joint investment company was emphasized. New formats of interaction such as the Council of Entrepreneurs and the Forum of Industrial and Economic Zones are supported.
Particular attention is paid to partnerships in the field of transport and communications. Projects for participation in the development of the Middle Corridor were discussed.
The increase in the transportation of Uzbek cargo through this corridor by 25 percent - more than 1 million tons - was noted with satisfaction. In addition, since March of this year, a transition to electronic permits for cargo transportation has been ensured.
An agreement was also reached to accelerate the preparation of a joint project to export electricity to Europe.
In order to properly celebrate the anniversary of diplomatic relations, the parties decided to hold a number of joint cultural and youth events this fall.
The heads of state also exchanged views on the international and regional agenda.
During the meeting, reports were heard from the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission, the ministers of transport, energy and culture on the agenda of the negotiations.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to adopt a “road map” for the timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached.

– Industrial Cooperation Program for 2025–2026;
– Program to bring trade turnover to $1 billion by 2030;
– Practical action plan for the further development of cooperation in the field of agriculture and food supply for 2025-2027 years;
– Action plan for the implementation of cooperation in the field of social protection for 2025-2027;
– Protocol on cooperation in the field of shipping and shipbuilding;
– agreements on the establishment of twinning relations between the Tashkent region and the city of Sumgait, between the cities of Navoi and Gabala.

It was noted that serious preparatory work had been carried out for the current summit. The first Interparliamentary Forum, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, forums of regions and rectors, political consultations, and a number of cultural events were successfully held.

The mutual intention to strengthen close contacts and continue mutual support on international platforms. There was a coincidence of positions on many pressing global and regional issues. In this context, the head of our state emphasized that Uzbekistan stands for resolving all acute problems and conflicts exclusively peacefully, through diplomatic efforts.
During the negotiations, agreements were reached on taking joint practical measures to increase the volume of bilateral trade and investment to one billion dollars in the coming years. A separate Program for promoting trade and cooperation has been adopted.
According to the President, to increase the efficiency of the work being carried out, existing cooperation formats will be expanded and new formats launched. We are talking about holding the Council of Entrepreneurs and the Forum of Industrial and Economic Zones.
The leaders attached particular importance to strengthening transport connectivity. It was emphasized that the Middle Corridor, which connects our countries and allows us to connect to other strategic routes, is currently actively developing. Thus, electronic permits were launched on this corridor in the spring. At the same time, the volume of Uzbek cargo transportation increased by a quarter. Their annual volume already exceeds one million tons.
Progress has been noted in promoting a joint project to export “green” energy to Europe.
In addition, today the construction of the Uzbekistan park in Baku will be launched and a new building of our country’s embassy in Azerbaijan will be opened.
It was noted that in parallel, active preparations are underway for projects for the future park "Azerbaijan" and the unique tourist complex "Sea Breeze" in Uzbekistan.
In connection with this year's celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two fraternal countries, an agreement was reached on jointly holding major events, concerts and youth forums dedicated to this important date.
In conclusion, the head of our state thanked his Azerbaijani colleague for supporting joint projects and cooperation programs. The new park will be located in the prestigious and dynamically developing district of the capital - “Ag” Shekher."
The project provides for the creation of a large-scale park complex on an area of 4.5 hectares, which is designed to present the rich culture and traditions of Uzbekistan.
It will include reconstructions of architectural monuments of our country, walking areas, green areas, a hotel, various retail and entertainment facilities. The buildings will be decorated using elements of Uzbek national architecture and decorated with traditional ornaments.

The project is a modern “Caspian Riviera”. The resort occupies about 500 hectares. There is a beach area with a length of 6.5 kilometers, parks and recreational facilities with an area of 150 hectares, where about 700 thousand trees and shrubs are planted.

One of the important facilities was Fizuli Airport, which was put into operation in 2021. The area of the garment factory is 1.2 hectares. The total investment cost of the project is $6.2 million. A total of 800 jobs will be created.
The factory plans to produce from 3 to 5 million units of knitted products annually. Finished products will be supplied both to the domestic market and for export.
