Leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan hold telephone conversation

On July 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a telephone conversation.

The Leader of Tajikistan warmly congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, happiness, inexhaustible energy, and continued success in realizing the aspirations of the friendly people of Uzbekistan.

Emomali Rahmon particularly noted that, thanks to the efforts of the President of Uzbekistan, the country is confidently advancing along the path of socio-economic development and steadily strengthening its standing on the international stage.

The two leaders discussed the further development of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good-neighbourliness, strategic partnership, and alliance.

Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan on March 26-27 this year, particularly in the trade, economic, and investment spheres.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming meetings.
