The King of Jordan got acquainted with the historical monuments of Samarkand
At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein August 25 arrived in our country on a state visit.
At the airport in Samarkand, the King of Jordan was met by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In honor of the distinguished guest, the state flags of the two countries were raised and a guard of honor was formed.
A solemn ceremony was held with the performance of national songs and dancing.

King of Jordan Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein, together with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, got acquainted with the majestic architectural monuments of the ancient city of Samarkand.
At the beginning, the heads of state visited the complex Shahi-Zinda.
This complex consists of the mausoleums of the Prophet Muhammad's companion Kusama ibn Abbas and other figures. The historical, cultural and artistic value of the complex is that it gives an idea of the development of architecture and decorative art over several centuries. Shahi Zinda was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001.
The King of Jordan, who is a representative of the Hashemite dynasty, officially descended from the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad Fatima and his son-in-law Ali ibn Abu Talib, paid tribute to the memory of Kusam ibn Abbas. Surahs from the Koran were read.
During the visit to the mausoleum of Amir Temur, the Jordanian delegation was told about the state-building policies of our great ancestor, his leadership talent, and diplomatic relations with various countries. The history of the life and work of Sahibkiran, as well as the largest state of its time created by him, made a huge impression on the guests.
The heads of state also visited the Registan complex, the ensemble of which consists of the Mirzo Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillakori madrassas. These monuments have attracted researchers for centuries and served as schools for hundreds of scientists. With its symmetry and architectural appearance, the Registan is deservedly the “calling card” of Samarkand.
During the visit, the distinguished guest was presented with information about the history of construction and the peculiarities of the ornaments of this building, the restoration work carried out on the square.

The distinguished guest viewed exhibitions revealing the rich cultural heritage of our people, handicrafts and applied arts art. The program of choreographic groups is presented.
The complex concentrates the main symbols of antiquity and reproduces recognizable details of the sights of historical cities of Uzbekistan. Along with national traditions, the history of international diplomacy is reflected here.
This combination of meaning, history and modernity made a great impression on the guests.
The main events of the Uzbek-Jordanian summit, including high-level negotiations, will take place on August 26.
