The Imam Bukhari complex will become a center of science, education and education
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Samarkand on October 30 to participate in the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
According to good tradition, the visit began with a visit to the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari. Surahs from the Koran and dua were read.
The head of state got acquainted with the final stage of work on the construction of the complex and the improvement of its territory. At the initiative of the President, it was re-erected in accordance with the high spiritual authority and great scientific heritage of the outstanding collector of hadiths, who occupies a special place in the Islamic world. All necessary amenities have been created for pilgrims.
The territory of the complex has been expanded and now covers 44 hectares. A mausoleum, a mosque for 10 thousand people, an administrative building, a museum, and entrance and exit aivans were built. Four minarets 75 meters high give the ensemble a majestic appearance.
The Head of State got acquainted with the creative work in the new mosque.
Every time he visited Samarkand, the President got acquainted with the progress of construction and emphasized that this complex should be not just a place of pilgrimage, but also a center of science, education, education and spiritual example. And so that the great works, knowledge and spiritual perfection of Imam Bukhari serve as an inspiring example, especially for young people.
An innovative museum has been created in the new complex, reflecting the life and scientific heritage of Imam Bukhari, recognized as the “Sultan of Muhaddith” of the Islamic world, as well as his contribution to the development of Islamic education. The museum presents information about 25 prophets whose names are mentioned in the Koran, the pedigree of the Prophet Muhammad, his life in Mecca and Medina, the process of collecting and recording hadith.
The construction of hotels and service facilities is being completed around the shrine. There will be one four-star, two three-star and 22 family hotels.
The President instructed to ensure high-quality organization of the complex’s activities, expand amenities for visitors and increase the number of green areas.
Finally, with good wishes, tree seedlings were planted on the territory of the complex.
