The state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Pakistan has ended
The busy program of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has ended.
During his stay in Islamabad, the head of our state held detailed negotiations with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif. Key issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Pakistan relations of friendship and strategic partnership, as well as expanding practical interaction in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-logistics and humanitarian spheres were considered.
As a result of high-level negotiations, a solid package of bilateral documents was signed aimed at deepening cooperation in priority areas and implementing joint projects.
Meetings were also held with the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Forces - Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the two-day visit, the head of our state took part in the Uzbek-Pakistan business forum, held meetings with representatives of leading business circles Pakistan.
At the "Ivan-e-Sadr" residence, a solemn ceremony was held to present the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the highest state award of Pakistan - the Order of "Nishan-e-Pakistan" ("Sign of Pakistan").
In addition, the President of our country was awarded honorary titles of doctor and professor of one of the leading higher educational institutions Pakistan.
In the capital of Pakistan, one of the streets was given the name “Tashkent”, and the newly created park was named after Babur, which became a symbol of the common historical heritage and further rapprochement of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
At the end of the state visit program, the President of Uzbekistan flew to Tashkent. At the Nurkhan airport, the distinguished guest was seen off by the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Production of Pakistan Harun Akhtar and other officials.
