The UNESCO General Conference concluded its work
Following the meeting, the General Conference unanimously adopted the official document “Expression of gratitude to the people and government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
It expresses deep gratitude to the President of the Republic Uzbekistan for its invaluable support, high attention and personal participation in organizing and holding the Bosch Conference, as well as sincere gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan for their hospitality and high initiative in holding the session.
The decision especially emphasizes that the cultural treasures of Uzbekistan, a country with an ancient civilization and rich heritage, became a source of inspiration for all participants and made a significant contribution to the strengthening of international solidarity, mutual understanding and trust.
The adopted decision, which became the first in the history of UNESCO, symbolizes international recognition of the important contribution of Uzbekistan to promoting the ideas of the Organization, developing intercultural dialogue and strengthening the principles of unity, tolerance and peace throughout the world.
Chairman of the 43rd session H. Talha spoke at the meeting and expressed gratitude leadership of Uzbekistan for the initiative to hold the session in Samarkand and for its organization at a high level.
Chairman of the UNESCO Executive Board Vera Lakoy, First Deputy Director-General Xin Qu and other high-ranking delegates thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan for their hospitality, emphasizing that staying at the session in Samarkand was “a unique not only diplomatic, but also spiritual experience” for participants.
It was emphasized that the Samarkand session opened a new page in the history of UNESCO and will remain in the memory of all Member States as one of the most inspiring and successful meetings. The conviction was expressed that the “spirit of Samarkand”, which has become the embodiment of openness, trust and mutual understanding between peoples, will continue to guide the activities of UNESCO and be reflected in its subsequent meetings and initiatives.

The General Conference, which met at its 43rd session in the city of Samarkand, the Republic of Uzbekistan, from October 30 to November 13, 2025, at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
Expressing deep gratitude to the people and the Government of Uzbekistan for the exceptional a warm welcome, generous hospitality and all the measures taken to ensure that the work of the Conference was carried out in the best conditions, contributing to its successful completion,

- Thanks all Uzbek services and staff for their outstanding dedication and high professionalism, ensuring the smooth and effective work of the session;
finally emphasizing that the cultural treasures of Uzbekistan - a country of ancient civilization and rich heritage - have made a significant contribution to strengthening the spirit of mutual understanding and harmony between delegations,
