President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gets acquainted with the progress of creative work, living conditions of the population and the activities of industrial enterprises in the city of Tashkent.
This time the route covered the Shaykhantakhur and Chilanzar districts, connected by Bunyodkor Avenue. On this one of the main streets of the capital there are large cultural and artistic institutions, various administrative buildings, houses, supermarkets and restaurants. Recently, a 1.5-kilometer section of the avenue was transformed into a service and gastronomic tourism zone.
The Head of State, together with representatives of the public, inspected the conditions created on this section. Landscaping was carried out along the road, decorative elements of landscape design, fountains and lighting were installed. In short, conditions have been created for walking, eating and meaningful recreation.
For this purpose, 90 business facilities have switched to round-the-clock operation. Of these, 45 enterprises are new establishments. As a result, 500 jobs were created.
About 18 thousand people live in the Kamolon, Yangi Kamolon and Kamolon Darvoza mahallas adjacent to the street. The changes will primarily affect the improvement of living conditions for them. In addition, this place is currently visited by 255 thousand tourists annually. Now the conditions have been created to increase this figure to 1 million people per year.
In recent years, more than 2 thousand new entrepreneurs have started operating in the tourism sector in the country. Last year the number of foreign tourists exceeded 10 million for the first time. The tourism and service infrastructure in the regions is developing dynamically, tourist villages, guest houses and gastronomic streets are actively supported.
Similar busy streets have already been created in the Mirabad, Almazar, Chilanzar, Yakkasaray and Yangikhayot districts of the capital. Bunyodkor Street will become part of this tourist network. In general, in Tashkent it is planned to transform 26 streets into 24-hour zones, as well as to increase the number of establishments with such operating hours to 1 thousand.
