In recent years, the number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan has been steadily increasing. In 2025, the number was nearly six times higher than in 2016, while tourism service exports increased elevenfold. At the same time, demand for modern infrastructure to host major international events is growing.
The complex under construction in Bukhara will expand the city’s capacity to host events of this scale. The congress hall will provide a venue for forums, high-level meetings, and other major international conferences.
The $60 million project includes a building with a total area of 14,500 square meters. The main concrete work has been completed, while work continues on external utility networks, the facade, and the roof.
A $37 million Hilton Garden Inn is also being built in the area. The seven-story hotel will have 212 rooms and underground parking. The building’s main structures have already been erected, with work now underway on interior walls, utility networks, and the facade.
Another project is a $39.6 million Holiday Inn. The seven-story hotel will also have 212 rooms. A two-story business center is being built next to it. Roof installation and interior wall construction are underway at the hotel, while concrete work in the underground section of the business center is nearing completion.
After inspecting the work at the construction sites, the President emphasized the importance of these projects for hosting international events in Bukhara and expanding tourism services. This, in turn, will contribute to higher incomes for local residents and the further development of the region’s economy. The Head of State instructed officials to complete the construction work on time and strictly adhere to quality requirements.
